Answer this question to the best of your ability:

If you cannot figure out the answer to one of the questions, simply move on to the next. If you don't have some of the basic facts in your memory, such as how many quarts are in a gallon, look them up in a book or on the Internet. There is no answer key you have to develop your own feeling for when your conclusions are correct and when they are not.

Ok, what is this quiz all about? Where do I find the right answers? Why am I doing this?

The purpose of this program is to help you focus your thinking and to build your confidence. You will notice right away that there is no answer key. Why is that? Well, real life has no answer keys, and this is about learning to succeed in real life. Simply answer the questions to the best of your ability — right or wrong. If you don't know how to answer a particular question, simply go to the next.

This is not about getting a high score or showing how good you are at taking tests. It's more serious than that. At Free-Ed.net, we don't play scoring games. We create winners.

These questions are adapted from Cook and Cropsey, The New Elementary Arithmetic; Silver, Burdett & Co., 1906.
