Lesson 17. Using Scripting and Other Tools
to Automate the Visual C++ IDE

Developer Studio is an open environment that you can customize to meet your own development needs. Using VBScript macros and Developer Studio add-ins, you can automate repetitive tasks and add features and commands to Developer Studio.

In this lesson, you will:

  • Create a VBScript macro and look at the sample macros shipped with Visual C++.
  • Create an add-in that displays information about source files in a Visual C++ project.
