There are two important requirements for using Second Life to enhance your learning experiences at Free-Ed.Net:

We are terribly sorry if you cannot qualify at this time. There is nothing we can do about it. Of course you can still take advantage of the wealth of courses and learning materials at the Web version of Free-Ed.Net. We have been helping people build better lives for more than a decade, and not having access to Second Life doesn't change a thing.
  1. You must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. You must have a fast Internet connection and a suitable graphics card installed in your computer. See the System specifications.

About this Course

This mini-course will help you manage your first hour or so in the vast and exciting 3-D world known as Second Life. It isn't that Second Life is so terribly hard to learn many hundreds of new Residents simply dive in and start learning on their own every day. However, Free-Ed.Net is strongly recommending your membership in Second Life and thus feels obligated to make your first encounters as easy and pleasant as possible.

For best results, familiarize yourself with these short lessons BEFORE making your first journey into Second Life.

When you have studied all these lessons, you are ready to apply:

  1. Through the Free-Ed.Net portal (recommended because we are right there on the campus to help you)
  2. Through the official Second Life portal (which is okay, but you are on your own)
