These study resources are arranged only by the type of medium they use. You should study the material by topic. When studying graphing, for example, you might want to view the topic first from the video series and then from the three text resources ... same topic from each of the resources. These are your tools. Use them in any way that makes sense (and progress) for you.

What is College Algebra? "College Algebra" is a term that is applied to the most advanced level of general algebra. Some call it algebra 3, and many schools integrate the topics of college algebra into a course called pre-calculus. Generally, College Algebra is the only general algebra course that colleges will award graduation credit. (Lower level algebra courses are considered remedial — something you should have mastered in high school). College Algebra is necessary for anyone who plans to study calculus or statistics. However, we strongly urge you to think of this as a worthy subject in its own right, and not simply a stepping stone to something else. Naturally, it is recommended that you have already done your studies with beginning and intermediate algebra courses. If you find you are immediately lost in this program, you should back up to the algebra department and get a running start with one of the lower-lever algebra courses.
