| 4. Deriving Minor Key Names from Key Signatures. a. The letter name of the scale degree immediately below the last sharp in the key signature is the minor key name for sharp keys (Figure 3-8).
b. For minor flat keys, find the name of the key by counting up three scale degrees above the last flat (Figure 3-9).
