Definitions

Lines drawn on a coordinate plane can be represented by an equation of two variables.

Equations of two variables that represent a straight line are called linear equations in two variables

Linear equations in two variables look like this: ax + by = c

Where:

  • x and y are the two variables
  • a, b, and c are real numbers
