A polynomial is an algebraic expression that has more than one term.

Examples

  • A binomial is a polynomial that has two terms: 2x + 1    a + b    x2 y + 2x
  • A trinomial is a polynomial that has three terms:    x2 - 2x + 4    x2y + 3x - z     a + b + c
