Technology is the application of creative human thought and experience to the solution of real-world problems. The primary purpose of science is to explain the world around us; the primary purpose of technology is to apply the theories of science to the solution of practical problems.

Since the middle of May, 2017, I have been dropping the term "engineering" from the descriptions of these learning resources. I have done this in order to emphasize the fact that self-directed studies of technology are most often confused and complicated by the ways the topics are classified--according to their perceived level of difficulty and need for meeting prescribed education and career standards.
