Note

Self-directed lifelong learners (SDLLs) soon find there is little, if any, necessary distinction between mechanical engineering and mechanical engineering technology. The two terms grow out of conventional career descriptions and the academic preparation for those careers. SDLLs aren't bound by those conventions.
