This is the master directory of e-texts for civil engineering technicians--those whose responsibilities fall between the certified engineers in the office and construction management in the field.

Topics of study include drafting, interpreting construction drawings, surveying, construction methods, and soil management. You can select  topics from two different levels of presentation:  Basic and Advanced.

Basic Level CET

Civil engineering technicians provide vital and continuous support in a variety of ways for construction projects. Your contributions as an apprentice engineering tech may be in the form of direct labor, indirect labor, or both.

Note

This department is a "work in progress," but considering the rapidly growing importance of these skilled trades, I am making all study units available.

Advanced Level CET

The higher you ascend the engineering technology ladder, the more valuable you become to your employer and to yourself. By the time you are an experienced journeyman or master, you have gained experience and attended several schools, and you are now better qualified and in a position to impart your knowledge and experience to the personnel serving under you. As a supervisor, your job tasking will be many-sided, and your bearing, actions, and disposition will be scrutinized by both subordinates and management.
