| IDENTIFYING WATER CLOSETS A water closet is a water-flushed plumbing fixture designed to receive and dispose of human waste. The method of flushing can be with either a flush tank or a flushometer valve. Water closets are made of vitreous china, and they can be installed directly on the floor or wall (see Figures 18 and 19).
